ATLANTA, March 14, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta (FHLBank Atlanta) is pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has elected Eduardo “Eddy” Arriola to fill the position of Director of Florida on the board, effective March 3, 2022. Term will expire December 31, 2022.
Mr. Arriola is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Apollo Bank, a Miami community bank focused on entrepreneurs, small businesses, family businesses and professionals. He is also completing his second term as a board member of the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and has served as a board member of the Florida Bankers Association and BankServ. Mr. Arriola was an investor and member of the board of directors of Total Bank from 2002 to 2007, and before founding Apollo Bank in 2010, he was involved in several entrepreneurial ventures in the technology and business services sectors. He is the co-founder of Inktel, a 3,000-employee call center company based in Miami, was director of creative services for Avanti Case-Hoyt, a national graphic arts and printing company, and was a member of the board of directors of gMed, a leading company in the field of medical office automation.
Mr. Arriola has been a leader in international politics and trade. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Inter-American Foundation (IAF), an independent US government agency created to support local development in Latin America and the Caribbean. He was appointed to the IAF Board of Directors by the President and confirmed by the US Senate in 2012 and has continued in that role ever since.
Mr. Arriola has supported many local community programs and has served on the board of several organizations. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Boston College and is a graduate of the Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School. He has also been a member of the Young President’s Organization for nearly 20 years.
